Tearing Down the House

by Kelly Phillips Erb on February 19, 2009

office2.jpgWe’ve been asked about the piles of rocks surrounding our office - and the zoning notices conspicuously posted around the office, advising of demolition. The question on everyone’s mind seems to be: Is the building coming down?

No, the building is not coming down. I know this sounds shocking. Even our bankers were sure that it was. But it’s not. The back of the building - the little add on that served as our file room - is coming off. But the building that we’re in is fairly historic and is staying put. We’ll be expanding across the hall to make up for the lost space.

As for the construction? It’s going to be a new development, residential town homes with (hopefully) commercial space on the bottom. The plans look nice and we’re happy to see what our new neighbors look like!

In the interim, the parking lot is a mess. Exercise care when stopping by - the rain and snow have caused some erosion from the piles next door into the lot.

But it’s all for a good cause! The entire corner will be better before you know it.
