Steps towards an online Switzerland

The FCC is expected to come out with rules shortly requiring internet service providers to treat all internet traffic equally according to this report by AFP. This so-called “net neutrality” has recently been the focus of legislative interest, and a bill is likely in the House of Representatives as well. ISPs are concerned that net neutrality rules will make it difficult to impossible to manage bandwidth and network capacity, while proponents fear undo interference by ISPs in consumer’s access to online services.
