Arrested for a Facebook Poke

by admin on October 14, 2009

Apparently a virtual wave is  more intrusive than a real one. A Tennessee Woman was arrested on September 25 for a virtual facebook “poke”. Poking is a feature on Facebook that includes no message and is nothing more than a virtual wave hello. The other user is informed of the “poke” by a tiny message on the site and an email if the user subscribed to this.

36-year-old Shannon D. Jackson poked another woman who had previously filed an order of protection against her. If the court finds that she violated the court order, the woman could face 11 months of jail time and a $2,500 fine.
